Our Culture Before and Now

In this modern century, everything in this world change day by day and the changes can give positive or negative effects towards our beloved Country “MALAYSIA”.

The originality of the clothes culture of the Malaysian people cannot be seen anymore because of modernization. This makes our new generation cannot be familiar with this particular unique culture but on the same time it give advantages towards the citizen of the country to not being seen as not up-to-date or lame without any changes all over the years.

Following Malaysia theme that changes every year such as in 1970 we hold the theme of “(Love and Unity)” and now in 2012 we did hold the theme “(55 Years of Independence: Promises Fulfilled)” . It shows that changes are important in way to develop the country.

All the trend and style in 2012 such as gothic, glamour, sport, and hip hop style did show how Malaysian changes their clothes style by following other country culture. But their patriotism towards Malaysia still remains the same. Just the different at the appearance but the heart and feeling love in Malaysia will never

                      Independent day did bring many value to us as the citizen on Malaysia. We already being command by other country before date of 31 August 1957. This particular history did teach and tell us to do not being involved with others culture or style because we already build our own culture when we got our independent day.

                         "2012" this particular year shows that we already 55 years being independent. It is such a wonderful. Even some of the culture still remain constant. but some of the wedding culture already change such as in term of their clothes.

                   New trend of wedding clothes nowadays show that our country had being develop very well and become  very updated like the others country such as America and Korea. Most of wedding dress already have a variety style and theme. If 55 years before this, our ancestors will wear Baju Kurung for their wedding day but for now generations, some of their wedding clothes going more fashionable and nice which is dress with a attracting colours such as Pink, yellow or blue.

                      All of this trend actually being taken from the other country fashion and trend. For example, American wedding, they will wear dress and man will wear suite or tuxedo on their wedding day. If in year 1988 and below we can only see this particular trend of wedding dress out from Malaysia but in 2012, everything is possible to see in Malaysia.

                            We need to be inform that changing of the clothing is not showing that Malaysian people do not have their own identity or nationalism towards Malaysia but actually Malaysia people is the person who that always move step forward and will never only be at the back.
This attitude is very good.

                 Wedding can be defines as the act of marrying or the celebration of a marriage. On this special day, everyone wants to look happy and beautiful. Wedding dress for the bridal should show their identity of their culture and make them look very special for that day.

                    This wedding dress can be included in the clothing culture because we have different wedding dress for different country or races.

                      In our early year of independent, their wedding dress is quite simple and nice. They wedding dress looks classical and it just quite similar with Malay tradition clothes. The bride will wear wedding dress such as songket, baju kurung, kebarung and also kebaya.  while for the groom, they will wear a simple wedding dress just like baju melayu but it is made from songket.

                        It looks more beautiful when their wedding dresses are made in beautiful colours such as gold, yellow, pink or purple. It can’t be deny that the bridal will be the gorgeous and awesome for that day.

                        On this era, most of bridal will make their own clothes because there is no such thing as boutique for bridal. But i do like their wedding dress because look very simple and nice. Moreover, it is shows the identity of us as Malaysian to people around us.

                     On this particular classic era, identity of the country and races are really being the important to all the bridal. Most of them want to look proud in their wedding dress that really suit with their heart and style.

MODERN STYLE

              In my latest post before this, I did mention about our clothing culture. So I would like to be focus on the nowadays trends which is in 2012.

               The first that came to our country is the Portugese. Then, the Dutch rolled in. After a while, the British took over, followed by the Japanese. Finally, the British conquered this country named Malaya, and made plans for the native Malays, Chinese and Indian migrants to unite the country’s administration so they could eventually call Malaya their own.

                On August 31, 1957, the British handed power over to the people of the land, who renamed the country Malaysia. Today, Malaysia is a true melting pot, comprising of over 27.5 million people of different races, religions and ethnicities.

              Our clothing culture nowadays is already been influenced the other country culture such as Korea, Japan, England and etc.

                All this country have their own fashion trend that lead to changes of Malaysian fashion trend too.If Malaysian before this in year after Merdeka love to wear baju kurung and baju melayu as to show the own personality of Malay, but Malaysian now prefer to wear some modern clothes such as skirt, jeans, jacket, or some kind of dresses.

Modern Fashion is cool for them and baju kurung and baju melayu only being used when they celebrating Hari Raya or have special events. It is the reality nowadays.

Malaysian Clothing Culture Since Beginning.

                      Culture in Malaysia being expose after our country get independent because on that time we already have our own country which is Malaysia. on that time, the culture is very nice and unique. to be more specific, Malaysian clothing culture really symbolize every single races that we have in Malaysia

Malaysian people called cloth as "Baju" and since Malaysia have two more major culture which is Chinese and Indian, so their clothing is follow their own culture and ethnicity.

for readers information,
Malay men wear baju melayu, usually, this type of cloth will be accompanied by "songkok" and "sampin", while Malay women will wear Baju Kurung or baju kebaya as a daily clothing . it is very nice and beautiful.

for Chinese, cheongsam is the dress for their women and Chinese men will wear short sleeved shirt, light weight trousers with sandal. it is their common dress for that time.
